Marilyn monroe

‘Marilyn Monroe’ is a collection of images apart of a collaborative project on female power. My part in the project allowed me to work on an impersonation of Marilyn Monroe and imply how she was one of the first women to refrain from blending in. The straw hat era which Monroe was a part of found confidence and sexualisation in females a taboo which Monroe changed. This series shows ‘Marilyn Monroe’ hiding behind a straw hat and slowly revealing more of herself in each image implying Monroe’s attempt to stand out. This work was a part of the Brimming With History exhibition in the Hat Factory in 2021.
